Rules about transportation of special baggage on Air Moldova flights: sports equipment or musical instruments

Sport equipment

The transportation of any sport equipment has to be agreed with the airline in advance, before the ticket issuance and at least 72 h prior the departure. The passenger has to declare the sport equipment at the time of ticket reservation, stating the type of equipment, its weight and dimensions. Sport Equipment is included in the free baggage allowance shown on the ticket. This means that no surcharge will be applied, if the sport equipment does not exceed the allowance included in your ticket in the terms of number, weight and/or dimensions. In case it exceeds the allowance from your ticket either in number or weight or dimension limit or the ticket does not include free baggage allowance, then an extra charge will be applied.

Musical instruments

All musical instruments whose sum of the dimensions (height, width, length) does not exceed 115 cm and in any case whose length does not exceed 115 cm, with a maximum weight of 8 kg, can be transported for free on board, in a special hard case , replacing hand luggage. Voluminous instruments, such as the cello, which do not exceed the dimensions 52x40x135 cm (width, depth, height) and the weight of 55 kg, can be brought into the cabin paying the equivalent of a second ticket. Reservations must be made at least 72 hours before the day of departure. Passengers wishing to transport their musical instruments on Air Moldova flights must present themselves at least 60 minutes before the scheduled check-in closing time.
